BBQ Burger & Biscuit Bake
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 sm Onion (chopped)
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup Ketchup
- 6 – 8 Tea biscuits (cut in half, lengthwise)
- 1 cup Sharp (old) cheddar cheese
- Optional: You can use any or all of these if you want – canned beans, sliced mushrooms, peppers (green, red or orange), celery, canned corn kernels
Instructions
- Optional: You can use any or all of these if you want – canned beans, sliced mushrooms, peppers (green, red or orange), celery, canned corn kernels
- In frying pan, brown the ground beef with the onions. (Add mushrooms, peppers, celery now if using.)
- When the beef is no longer pink and the onions are translucent, stir in the BBQ sauce and ketchup. (Add the canned beans now if using.)
- Spray a small casserole dish or glass baking dish with cooking spray and spread the beef mixture on the bottom.
- Lay the biscuits around the top of the beef mixture, cut side down. Try to cover all the meat.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the biscuits and bake for 20 minutes.
- Check after about 7 or 8 minutes to make sure the cheese is not burning. (If it’s getting too brown, remove the dish and cover loosely with foil before putting back in oven to finish cooking.
- Remove from oven (remove foil if using) and let sit for a few minutes before serving.
