Sam’s Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • Colored sugar (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Place dry ingredients in a bowl and mix.
  3. Blend in softened butter with wooden spoon until it forms a soft, smooth dough.
  4. Shape dough into 1″ balls (about 2 tsp of dough) and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Press with a fork.
  6. Sprinkle with colored sugar if using.
  7. Bake for 9 to 12 minutes until just starting to get golden around edges.
