Recipe Tips and Hints
- Biscuit dough is suitable to freeze. Roll dough into a sausage shape and wrap in baking paper and seal the ends. Write the flavor on the outside. Freeze for up to three months.
- Form small balls with the dough and freeze on a tray, then place the small balls in a ziplock bag to freeze for up to three months.
- Substitute half the butter for an additional egg for a healthier version.
- Condensed milk can also be substituted with Caramel Topping for a naughtier version.
- If using cookie cutters, add more plain flour to make the dough stiffer.
For a less ‘floury’ biscuit – sub half a cup of flour for 1/2 cup of custard powder and put lemon or passion fruit icing between the two biscuits. Doesn’t that sound completely heavenly!
