Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter (room temperature)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or chocolate chunks)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Cream butter, brown sugar, egg yolk an vanilla until thoroughly combined.
- Add the flour and mix well.
- Stir in the semisweet chocolate pieces and walnuts (if using).
- Pat into an ungreased 15.5′ x 10.5″ shallow baking pan.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
- Cut into bars while still warm and then cool.
- Makes 48 bars.
