Chocolate Cake
This is my absolute favorite chocolate cake recipe. It's moist and light and so easy to make. Top it with a home-made chocolate frosting for an amazing cake experience.
Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 cups White sugar
- ¾ cup Cocoa powder
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Vegetable or Canola oil
- 1 cup 2% Milk
- 2 Eggs lightly beaten
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9″ round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients until they are well blended.
- Add in the oil, milk eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined.
- Slowly pour in the boiling water, and beat until combined. The batter should be thin.
- Pour batter evenly between the two pans.
- Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Cakes will be done when a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean and dry.
- Cool in pans for 5 minutes on cooling rack and then remove from pans and let sit on cooling racks until completely cool.
- Add frosting and decorations of your choice.
