Chocolate Cake

This is my absolute favorite chocolate cake recipe. It's moist and light and so easy to make. Top it with a home-made chocolate frosting for an amazing cake experience.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups White sugar
  • ¾ cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Vegetable or Canola oil
  • 1 cup 2% Milk
  • 2 Eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Boiling water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9″ round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients until they are well blended.
  • Add in the oil, milk eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined.
  • Slowly pour in the boiling water, and beat until combined. The batter should be thin.
  • Pour batter evenly between the two pans.
  • Bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Cakes will be done when a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean and dry.
  • Cool in pans for 5 minutes on cooling rack and then remove from pans and let sit on cooling racks until completely cool.
  • Add frosting and decorations of your choice.
