Fudge Brownies

Moist and chewy Fudge Brownies. Make them for a snack, a pot luck or even a party. They will be a hit!

Equipment

  • 8 x 8 inch square pan

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup butter or margarine
  • 2 squares melted and cooled unsweetened chocolate (2 x 1 oz squares)
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup walnuts (optional)
  • assorted toppings: shredded coconut, chocolate frosting, whipped cream, shaved chocolate (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan and set aside.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in medium saucepan. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in sugar.
  • Blend in eggs, one at a time.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Stir in flour and walnuts.
  • Pour into the prepared baking pan.Bake for 23 minutes for moist, chewy brownies. Bake for 30 minutes for cake like brownies.
  • Cool and cut into squares. Makes 16.
  • Serve plain or top with a favorite topping (or several of them!).

Notes

Be careful not to over cook!
